The Mayer Law Group has worked on many complex litigations and class actions. The firm is currently co-lead counsel in Farmer-Paellman v. Brown & Williamson a class action representing the descendants of African-American slaves who were used as collateral on loans made by eighteen major financial institutions including Aetna, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America.
The Mayer Law Group worked on the Nike v. Kasky case before the United States Supreme Court and has done arguments in several appellate circuits including the Seventh and the Third.
The Mayer law group has represented numerous public interest organization and plaintiff’s classes, including: the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, The Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Humane Society.
The firm has worked on numerous complex financial cases and class actions and achieved settlements for plaintiffs against major financial institutions like TIAA-CREF. The firm or its members have also participated in major securities class actions such as County of Orange v. Merrill Lynch and In Re Kroger Properties.
As special counsel to New York City Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, Mr. Mayer headed up a complex, multi-year litigation against the major gun manufactures in the United States.
